Oregon Student Child Care Grant

Key Conditions

  • Helps parents enrolled in postsecondary education obtain safe, dependable childcare during completion of the parent’s academic programs.
  • Oregon resident with a child or legal dependent age 12 and under or a child over 12 with special needs. 
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll as an undergraduate.
  • Willing to use a childcare provider from the list

Tips for Candidates

  • Available to both FAFSA and ORSAA candidates.
  • Applications open mid-January and close at the end of May
  • Available for students in a community college, public, or private institution.
  • Eligible for up to 6 years.
  • Funds are distributed to the IHE and students then pay their childcare provider. 

Estimated Amount

  • Not exceeding $10,000 per year
  • Based on average childcare costs per child based on the student’s local area rates
