TheDream.US is the nation’s largest college and career success program for undocumented immigrant youth, having provided more than 10,000 college scholarships to Dreamers attending 80+ partner colleges in 20+ states and Washington, DC. Each of our Partner Colleges has an on-campus Scholar Advisor who builds meaningful relationships with our Scholars – individually and as a cohort – and assists our Scholars in successfully navigating their college journey and accessing any needed services.

Key Features

The Dream offers two types of scholarships: 

  1. National Scholarship Applications are open to immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before Nov. 1, 2018.
  2. Opportunity Scholarship Designed for students who live in targeted, locked-out states where they cannot get in-state tuition. (not applicable for Oregon)

Tips for Candidates

  • The National and Opportunity Scholarship Applications open each November with awards given in March-April.
  • You can download the application for the National Scholarship at this link.
  • You may be eligible if you are undocumented with or without DACA or TPS and . . . 
    ✓ You are or about to be a high school graduate; OR
    ✓ You have or are about to earn a GED; OR
    ✓ You are or have been enrolled in a community college or university . . . 
  • While they consider your GPA, they place great emphasis on your commitment to community service and your demonstrated ability to overcome the barriers and challenges that undocumented students face each day.

Estimated Amount

  1. National Scholarship. Up to $16,500 for an associate’s degree and $33,000 for a bachelor’s degree.
  2. Opportunity Scholarship Up to $80,000 to cover tuition, fees, and on-campus housing and meals for a bachelor’s degree.
